CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE:  Chester, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On July 16^th, 2020 the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Nicholas Wardwell of Chester, Vermont for Driving Under the Influence, Cruelty to a Child and Operating with a Criminally Suspended License.

At approximately 0043 hours an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle that Wardwell was driving. The officer observed signs of alcohol impairment and Standardized Field Sobriety Exercises were administered. At the conclusion of the exercises Wardwell was placed under arrest for DUI. At the time of a stop there was an infant present inside of the vehicle. It was also discovered that Wardwell’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle in Vermont was suspended criminally.

Wardwell was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department and was later released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 08/04/2020.
