SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 23rd, 2023, at approximately 1651 hours, officers with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Nicholas Batchelder, age 38, of Bellows Falls on an active instate arrest warrant issued by the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division.

Batchelder was located walking on Oak St and ultimately fled from officers. Officers chased Batchelder on foot throughout the village for a lengthy period of time. He was ultimately located and taken into custody without incident at a residence on Green St. Batchelder was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility and lodged in lieu of $100 bail.

On 5/22/2023 the Bellows Falls Police, Department issued a citation to Andrea Peltier to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on July 27, 2023, to answer to the charge of False Information to a Police Officer. The Bellows Falls Police Department received a complaint from Peltier saying that her significant other had violated a relief from abuse order and provided a sworn statement to the police department which was shown after an investigation to be untrue.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On April 20th, 2023, at approximately 2024 hours, officers with the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a disturbance on Wells St. An investigation was conducted and at the conclusion of the investigation, Robert A Rice, age 44, of Bellows Falls, was arrested for simple assault.

Rice was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing, and at the completion of processing he was issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Division, on May 30th, 2023 at 0830 hours.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 7th, 2023, at approximately 0019 hours, the Bellows Falls Police Department received a report of a domestic disturbance on King St. 

An investigation was conducted, and at the conclusion of the investigation, Tami M. Amidon, age 54, of Bellows Falls was arrested for 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. Amidon was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division on 05/08/2023 to answer to the charge and released on conditions of release, per the court.

A short time later officers were continuing there investigation and responded back to the residence the original incident had occurred. Amidon was located at said location, in violation of her originally issued conditions of release. Amidon was arrested and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. She was released on conditions of release, per the court.

The Bellows Falls Police Department was assisted with this incident by the Walpole NH Police Department.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 5th, 2023, at approximately 0240 hours, officers with the Bellows Falls Police Department had contact with Eric Clifford, age 39, of Bellows Falls, and it was discovered that he had an active arrest warrant issued out of the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Unit.

Clifford was arrested and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. Clifford was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility and lodged in lieu of $500 bail.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 5th, 2023, at approximately 1534 hours, officers with the Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a trespassing complaint at a local business on Westminster St. Upon investigation it was determined that one of the involved parties, Dustin P Lockerby, age 25, of Athens, had an active extraditable warrant out of the State of New Hampshire.

Lockerby was located walking on Westminster St and was taken into custody. Lockerby was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. Lockerby was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bail and was subsequently transported to Southern State Correctional Facility. Lockerby will be arraigned on the charge on 05/08/2023.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 4th, 2023, at approximately 2231 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Richard P Lafayette, age 37, of Westminster, Vermont for driving under the influence.

An officer observed a motor vehicle violation on Westminster St in the Village of Bellows Falls on a vehicle ultimately discovered to be driven by Lafayette. The officer stopped the vehicle on Route 5 in the Town of Westminster and after meeting with Lafayette, the officer observed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and at the conclusion of the tests Lafayette was arrested for DUI.

Lafayette was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for the purpose of processing. At the completion, Lafayette was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 05/16/2023 to answer to the charges.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On May 3rd, 2023, at approximately 3:26 PM hours, the Bellows Falls Police Department began an investigation into a possible Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Eric Clifford from Bellows Falls VT, was arrested for the offenses. Clifford was processed at the Bellows Falls Police Department and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 05/04/23 to answer the charge, per the court.
