SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:      

On 09-28-2022 at approximately 1:10 p.m., the Bellows Falls Police Department received a call stating that an individual was in violation of a Relief from Abuse Order.

After the necessary information was gathered, Brian Mattson of Springfield, Vermont was located on 09-29-2022 and then arrested for violating the relief from abuse order.

Mattson was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. 

Mattson was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility by Probation and Parole and issued a citation to appear in the Windham County Superior Court- Criminal Division to answer to the charge(s) on September 30, 2022, at 12:30 p.m.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On September 19th, 2022, the Bellows Falls Police Department investigated the complaint of a retail theft that took place at the 802 Spirits/Shell Convenience Store located at 97 Westminster Street. As a result of this investigation, Kevin Cameron, age 57, Homeless, Bellows Falls, VT was issued a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court – Criminal Division on November 1st, 2022 at 0800 hours to answer to the offense of Retail Theft / Violation of Conditions of Release. Cameron was also lodged on an active Windham County Arrest Warrant for failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 16th, 2022, at approximately 2200 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Brian M. Brownell, age 39, of Bellows Falls on an active instate arrest warrant issued by the Vermont Superior Court – Windsor Criminal Division.

Brownell was located at a residence on Center St and subsequently taken into custody. He was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department and was ultimately lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 bail.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 18th, 2022, at approximately 1742 hours, the Bellows Falls Police Department received a report of a domestic disturbance on Westminster St.

An investigation was conducted, and at the conclusion of the investigation, Robert F. Lawrence, age 31, of Charlestown was arrested for domestic assault. Lawrence was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division on 09/19/2022 to answer to the charge and released on conditions of release, per the court.

The Bellows Falls Police Department was assisted with this incident by the Charlestown NH Police Department, Walpole NH Police Department, and the Vermont State Police.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 10th, 2022, at approximately 0241 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Marcus W. Koritz, age 28, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire on an active instate arrest warrant issued by the State of Vermont Parole Board.

An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Old Terrace. Koritz was identified as a passenger inside of the vehicle. It was ultimately discovered he had an active warrant in the State of Vermont. Koritz was taken into custody and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department. He was ultimately lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.

As a result of this investigation, Misty Powers, age 42 of Bellows Falls was taken into custody and processed for the offense of DUI #4, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving License Suspended-Criminal. Powers was issued a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court – Criminal Division on September 20th, 2022 at 0800 hours. Powers was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility until sober.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 7, 2022, the Bellows Falls Police Department assisted the Bellows Falls Fire and the Rockingham Highway with a spill of hydraulic oil on Bridge Street in Bellows Falls.  Drums of hydraulic oil fell from a truck being operated by E. Hatch and spilled onto Bridge Street.  The spillage was quickly contained, no one was injured in the event.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 2nd, 2022, at approximately 2015 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Chandler R. Castor, age 23, of Brattleboro Vermont on an active instate arrest warrant issued by the Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Route 5 in the Town of Westminster after observing a motor vehicle violation on Westminster St in Bellows Falls. Castor was subsequently discovered to be a passenger in the vehicle, and it was discovered that he had an active arrest warrant.

Castor was arrested and subsequently lodged at Southern State Correction Facility where he was held without bail. Castor was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 09/06/2022.

ACCUSED: Stephen L. Robinson Jr (age 29)                                               

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Putney, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 4th, 2022, at approximately 0225 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Stephen L. Robinson Jr, age 29, of Putney, Vermont for driving under the influence.

Robinson’s vehicle was stopped on Route 121 in the Town of Westminster after an officer observed a motor vehicle violation on Old Terrace in Bellows Falls. After meeting with Robinson, indicators of impairment were observed. Standardized Field Sobriety Test’s were administered, and at the conclusion of the tests Robinson was arrested for DUI.

Robinson was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for the purpose of processing. At the completion, he was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 09/20/2022 to answer to the charge.
