DATE/TIME:03/21/2020 at approximately 0255 hours

LOCATION (specific): Rockingham St and Williams St/Williams St Ext. 

VIOLATIONS: Operating without owners consent, Assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, Attempting to Elude. 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 21st, 2020 at approximately 0255 hours the Bellows Falls Police Department attempted to effect an arrest on the operator of a vehicle reported to be stolen from the Town of Springfield, Vermont. The operator of the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed in the vehicle and struck a police vehicle while attempting to elude. The operator abandoned the vehicle on Williams St Ext. and left the scene on foot. The Bellows Falls Police Department is looking for assistance with making contact with a Zacharie Hart, 24, of Springfield, VT in regards to this incident. Anyone who has information about this incident or has information on Hart's whereabouts is urged to contact the Bellows Falls Police Department at 802-463-1234. The Bellows Falls Police Department was assisted by the Walpole N.H. Police Department and the Vermont State Police.

UPDATE:

On March 26th, 2020 Hart was arrested by the Springfield Police Department on an unrelated outstanding warrant. At this time there was probable cause to believe Hart had committed the above offenses and was cited and ultimately lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
