LOCATION (specific): Atkinson St at Williams St, Bellows Falls              

VIOLATION: Arrest Warrant (Vermont / Instate)   

ACCUSED: Julie M. Bright (age 32)                                    

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bellows Falls / Springfield, Vermont     

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 7th, 2020 at approximately 1610 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Julie M. Bright, age 32, of Bellows Falls / Springfield Vermont on an active instate arrest warrant.

Bright was seen walking down Atkinson St. The arresting officer ultimately made contact with Bright at the intersection of Atkinson St and Williams St and took Bright into custody without incident.

Bright was arrested and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for the purpose of processing. At the completion of processing she was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on 03/09/2020 and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 bail.

VIOLATION:Assault on a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest 

ACCUSED: Sarah F. Benson 

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE:  Putney, Vermont 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 9th, 2020 the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Sarah F. Benson of Putney, Vermont for Assaulting a Police Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. At approximately 1955 hours an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Benson’s vehicle for a violation on Hospital Court. The officer on scene was subsequently assaulted by Benson and then resisted arrest. Benson was ultimately placed in custody and was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing. Benson was released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 04/07/2020. The Bellows Falls Police Department was assisted by the Walpole N.H. Police Department.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 8th, 2020 the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Richard Torrey Jr. for Driving Under the Influence (Felony) and Driving While Criminally Suspended. At approximately 0048 hours an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for a motor vehicle violation. Investigation at the scene led to Torrey’s arrest for the above violations. Torrey was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing and was later released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 03/09/2020 at 1230.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On January 15th, 2020 the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Mark P. Dwyer, 59, of Canaan, NH for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol. At approximately 2045 hours an on duty officer was participating in the Vermont Governors Highway Safety Grant – DUI Task Force. A traffic stop was initiated for a motor vehicle violation. Subsequent investigation at the scene led to Dwyer’s arrest for DUI. Dwyer was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing and was ultimately released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 02/04/2020.

At approximately 0849 hours Martin was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. Investigation at the scene led to Martin’s arrest. Martin was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing and was later released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division.
