SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On December 24th, 2022, at approximately 2107 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Matthew J. Mabe, age 40, of Saxtons River, Vermont for driving under the influence and ignition interlock required.
Mabe’s vehicle was stopped on Route 121 in the Town of Westminster after an officer observed a motor vehicle violation. After meeting with Mabe, indicators of impairment were observed. Standardized Field Sobriety Test’s were administered, and at the conclusion of the tests Mabe was arrested for DUI and ignition interlock required.
Mabe was transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for the purpose
of processing. At the completion, he was issued a citation to appear in Vermont
Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 01/03/2023 to answer to the
charges of Driving Under the Influence (4th or Subsequent Offense /
Refusal) and Ignition Interlock Restricted Driver’s License.
The Bellows Falls Police Department was assisted by Deputies from the Windham County Sheriff's Office with this investigation.
