SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: The Bellows Falls Police Department is investigating an incident where counterfeit money was left at a local business.  The denominations were 20’s and 5-dollar bills.  Anyone with information or having taken a counterfeit bill, is asked to call the Bellows Falls Police Department.  Extra caution should be taken when exchanging currency.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On August 31st, 2020 The Bellows Falls Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Westminster Street and Atkinson Street. After an investigation into the incident, Jerald Buffum age 50, of Bellows Falls, VT was taken into custody and processed for DUI #1. Buffum was later issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 09/15/2020 to answer to this offense.

VIOLATION:Trafficking Heroin 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: An 18-year-old female has been cited into Vermont Superior Court – Windham Family Division for Trafficking Heroin following a traffic stop on June 7th, 2020 on Rockingham Street in Bellows Falls.  

At approximately 2226 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation which ultimately led to the seizure of the female occupant’s purse for the purpose of an application for a search warrant.   

On June 10th, 2020 the search warrant was approved and was executed. During the search 1,971 bags of suspected heroin was located with a street value of approximately $19,710. The suspected heroin was sent to the Vermont Forensic Laboratory for further drug analysis.

VIOLATION:Driving with a Criminally Suspended License, Providing False Information to a Police Officer 

 

ACCUSED: Daniel N. Vaine Jr. (age 24) 

 

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Putney, Vermont  

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On August 16th, 2020 at approximately 2359 hours, an officer with the Bellows Falls Police Department arrested Daniel N. Vaine Jr., age 24, of Putney, Vermont for driving with a criminally suspended license and providing false information to a police officer. 

 

Vaine’s vehicle was stopped on Route 5 in Westminster after an officer observed a motor vehicle violation on Westminster St in Bellows Falls. After meeting with Vaine he provided the officer with a false name. The officer was able to recognize Vaine from prior police interactions with him. It was discovered that Vaine had a criminally suspended license. 

 

Vaine was arrested and released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on 09/22/2020.
